What is double-sided tape?

Very often, double-sided tape for vertical surfaces is called mirror and molding tape, as it has found wide application in this area due to its high adhesion. Another name for this tape is double-sided foam tape. It actually consists of foamed polyethylene approximately 1000 microns thick with an adhesive layer applied on both sides, with one side covered by a protective strip. In addition to mounting mirrors and moldings, double-sided foam tape is used for installing various structures, attaching plastic borders and baseboards, and bonding products made of wood, metal, and other materials with rough, uneven surfaces. To increase adhesion to the surface, it is necessary to follow some rules when working with double-sided foam tape. It is desirable that the surface onto which the tape will be applied is thoroughly cleaned of grease, oil, and dust. It is also important that during the application of the tape, uniform pressure is applied without stretching. It should be noted that after applying the double-sided tape to the working surface, to achieve maximum adhesion, the item should be kept in a horizontal position for 24 hours.
